(ATR) It’s the final week of the U.S. Open in New York, the first tennis tournament since the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the last of the 2016 Grand Slams.

Keeping his eye on all the action is Dave Haggerty, president of the International Tennis Federation. One year ago, Dave Haggerty was in charge of the U.S. Open as the chairof the host U.S. Tennis Association, but two weeks after the 2015tournament he won election as president of the ITF. He says that giveshim a much different role in this year's tournament.

Haggerty spoke with Around the Rings Editor Ed Hula Sunday morning from New York where he is attending the U.S. Open. He talks about the new roof over Arthur Ashe Stadium, the experience of the RioOlympics, expectations for wheelchair tennis at the Rio Paralympics, planning for Tokyo 2020 and the race for the 2024 Olympics.
