(ATR) Maya Angelou died Wednesday at the age of 86.
The poet was a champion of human rights, particularly civil rights in the United States. She wrote for and spoke at the inauguration of two American presidents, and is best known for her work "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings."
Angelou also was commissioned by the United States Olympic Committee to write a poem for the U.S. Team at the Beijing Olympics. Here is Angelou reciting the poem "Amazement Awaits."
