(ATR) The 1996 Olympics were very good for the U.S. swim team. Men and women swept gold in the team events while the women dazzled with their individual performances. Amy van Dyken was a relative unknown before becoming the swimmer with the most medals. Other boldface names from 1996 included Brooke Bennett, Angel Martino and Amanda Beard among others.
