(ATR) Olympian and USA Canoe/Kayak CEO Joe Jacobi joinsAround the Ringstodiscuss how the Canoe Slalom World Championships could affect the road to Rio 2016.

The ICF says over 400 athletes from 46 different countries are gathering in McHenry for the world championships, which open on Wednesday. This is the city's second time hosting the event.

Competition concludes on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Jacobi competed at both the 1992 and 2004 Summer Olympic Games. In 1992, he won a gold medal in the men's C-2 slalom event.
