COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The United States Olympic Committee and Tokyo American Club today
announced that the private facility, located in central Tokyo neighborhood of Azabudai, will serve as USA
House for Team USA during the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
The USOC first operated USA house in Salt Lake City during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The Tokyo
USA House represents the ninth iteration of the gathering space for the U.S. delegation and guests.
"Team USA has a history of creating a great national house and the addition of USA House at Tokyo
American Club will certainly continue and enhance that legacy," said USOC CEO, Scott Blackmun. "We
have no doubt that our delegation – Team USA athletes, families, partners and supporters – will feel at
home in this great location, enjoying one of the world’s great cities and celebrating the Olympic Games
Tokyo 2020."
Planning for today’s announcement began in earnest in late 2016, and continued as club representatives
and USOC staff collaborated on the partnership and a vision for the house.
"On behalf of Tokyo American Club leadership, members and staff, we are thrilled to welcome Team USA
and know it will be an ideal home during the Tokyo Games," said Michael Alfant, Tokyo American Club
president. "USA House is a place for celebration of Team USA, and that is a natural fit within a great
community at Tokyo American Club. We are excited for the Games to begin."
As in London, Sochi and Rio, USA House will feature a Team USA shop open to guests, while Team USA
partners Dow and Oakley will also be utilizing Tokyo American Club as their hosting center.

The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 open July 24 and run through Aug. 9, 2020.
