Tokyo 2020 Welcomes Shimizu Corporation as an Official Supporter

Tokyo, 17 October 2018 – The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020) today welcomed Shimizu Corporation (Shimizu) as a Tokyo 2020 Official Supporter, the third domestic tier of the Tokyo 2020 Sponsorship Programme.

The company has been attributed the category "Construction Services for Facilities and Public Infrastructures." Its addition brings the total number of Tokyo 2020 domestic partners to 55*, including 15 Gold Partners, 30 Official Partners, and 10 Official Supporters, all of whom will play vital roles in the successful delivery of the Games.

Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori welcomed the announcement, commenting, "We are delighted to have Shimizu as an Official Supporter. Shimizu creates properties for new generations, helping to shape the future of Japan for years to come.

Shimizu actually helped construct one of Yoyogi National Stadium’s gymnasiums for the Olympic Games Tokyo 1964, and so we are very pleased they will be supporting the successful delivery of the Tokyo 2020 Games, having always demonstrated sincere craftsmanship and

innovation in their work."
