PyeongChang Apps Available for Download

Are you a fan of the Winter Olympics? Are you going to the Games and unsure of how to get around?

If you answered yes to either, or both, of these questions there are two mobile apps available for you.

The first is the official PyeongChang 2018 app, which was launched this week. According to Samsung, in a release, the app will serve Olympic fans with "real-time updates, athlete information, medal standings and Olympic and Paralympic records". Samsung developed the app, available in five languages, that fans can customize to get news that matters to them.

"As part of our commitment to creating an enjoyable Olympic Winter Games experience for athletes, fans, and consumers, we’re proud to create connections, and to help share the Olympic Spirit around the world," Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President, Samsung Electronics, said in a statement. "Through our innovative technology advancements, our goal is to contribute to a meaningful and unforgettable experience for all."

For fans headed to South Korea to attend the Games, the PyeongChang 2018 organizing committee released the "PyeongChang Go" app to help fans get around Gangenung and PyeongChang.

The app shows public transit options for fans going to Olympic venues. All venues are searchable, as are other addresses in Korea. For Olympic stakeholders and media, inputting information allows users to download shuttle bus information in real time.
