(ATR) South Korea is a country obsessed with technology. From robots to high-speed internet to Bitcoin, Koreans embrace all things new. Some of those touches of technology can be found here in PyeongChang.
The average Olympic fan spends considerable time on buses commuting to and from venues. PyeongChang 2018 has made that time pass more quickly by adding event coverage and internet.
It begins on board spectator buses, as riders are treated to a large screen television at the front of the bus playing live broadcasts of Olympic coverage. While there is no sound, the images are enough to see how competitions are progressing.
Olympic fans can make the best of their downtime and follow various events en route to other events. Even media transport buses have these screens, keeping everyone in the Olympic family in the loop.
The buses are also equipped with high-speed WiFi. You can check emails or sports stats. It is a handy way to keep in touch. Though internet is available at the venues, sometimes service can be a bit spotty. The bus is a good backup if you don’t have local service.
Now even bus rides are much more enjoyable and time passes quicker with these touches of tech. Hopefully we will see this service repeated at future Olympiads.
