(ATR) Olympic TOP sponsor Panasonic highlights its latest efforts involving Tokyo 2020 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Those attending the CES could stop by the Panasonic booth and enjoy personalized, immersive experiences with the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 video game, a collaboration between SEGA and Panasonic.

"Panasonic has been a proud long-term Worldwide Olympic & Paralympic Partner, and each time we strive to create new technologies, solutions and partnerships that move us all forward and bring the excitement and passion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to fans everywhere," said Michael Moskowitz, chairman and CEO of Panasonic Corporation of North America.

"By partnering with SEGA and their Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, we’re able to deliver a highly interactive and personalized, engaging experience far beyond the stands."

Panasonic and SEGA are exploring extensive cross-promotions prior to, during and after Tokyo 2020 as part of "a goal of reaching new audiences and bringing fun-filled Olympic Games sports action video games to consumers worldwide".

During the CES, USA Olympic swimming champions Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky made a splash in teaming up with Panasonic in a partnership to empower youth.

Phelps and Ledecky were joined on Team Panasonic by Lex Gillette, four-time Paralympic silver medalist in the long jump and motivational speaker, and Japanese-American Olympic hopeful Sakura Kokumai, seven-time USA national karate champion. They are part of the company's #whatmovesus digital and social marketing campaign.

Together with Panasonic, their shared social purpose is to inspire today's youth to dream big and to work hard to make those dreams come true.

"I am honored to join Team Panasonic, a brand that reflects my philosophy and mission to promote healthy living and the pursuit of dreams," Phelps said. "I appreciate Panasonic's long-standing commitment to social responsibility with a priority of creating solutions that address today's societal needs."

As part of the partnership, Panasonic will support the expansion of new locations of the Michael Phelps Foundation signature program – IM – at local Boys & Girls Clubs, which has reached more than 30,000 children with its water safety, healthy living and goal-setting curriculum.

Additionally, Panasonic will sponsor Ledecky's new STEM education program, where students will explore careers in science, technology, engineering and math through a digital course.
