FIBA Finds 3x3 Partner
Schelde Sports signed on to partner with FIBA’s 3x3 basketball discipline.
The Dutch company will provide the backstops for all 3x3 World Tour events and the 3x3 World Championship.
Schelde Sports designed a special backstop for FIBA, which will include a custom 12-second shot clock.
"We’re very pleased to announce this partnership between our FIBA 3x3 discipline and Schelde Sports for the next four years," said FIBA Secretary General Patrick Baumann.
"Our 3x3 is fast-growing and by working together with Schelde Sports, aleading company whose reputation in providing excellent equipment precedes it. We can look forward to achieving many great things in years to come."
The sponsorship agreement runs through 2016 and will include the Rio 2016 Olympics if 3x3 basketball is included in the program.
Moscow 2013 Rugby Partners
Bank Zenit, Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) and Canterbury of New Zealand agreed to be added to the commercial program for the 2013 Rugby Sevens World Championship.
The competition will take place in Moscow this June.

"These key partnerships with top brands delivers high visibility to a mass global audience and are tailored to suit each brand’s unique key marketing and business objectives, both in stadia, where more than 115,000 fans are anticipated to attend across the tournament, and through a global television audience reach of close to one billion."
Dow Picks Up Carbon Sponsorship
Dow Chemical added the carbon sponsorship of Sochi 2014 to its Olympics portfolio.
The TOP sponsor made the announcement on Thursday. A statement says Dow will work to "mitigate the direct carbon footprint" of the Games. Dow will also work with firms throughout Russia to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in infrastructure, industry and agriculture projects.
"We aim to be the most innovative Olympic Winter Games in history, and our long-lasting positive impact will leave behind an unparalleled heritage not only to Sochi and the Krasnodar Region, but to Russia and its people for generations to come," said Sochi 2014 President and CEO Dmitry Chernyshenko.
"Revolutionary" Table Tennis Table in the Works
San-Ei is the ITTF's new table tennis table sponsor.
The Japanese company will supply the playing surfaces for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. DHS was the table sponsor for the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
A statement from the International Table Tennis Federation says a "revolutionary" table is being planned for the Games that will be revealed on the ITTF website in 2016.
"The bidding for the table for 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games was the most competitive since I became ITTF President," said Adam Sharara.
"It would seem that being the table supplier for the Olympics has increased in value tremendously, as table manufacturers compete to get this prestigious right."
DHS will remain as the official ball supplier of the Olympics.
Dunlop Adding 50th Year of Squash Sponsorship
Dunlop will continue to serve as the official ball for the World Squash Federation.
The deal extends Dunlop’s sponsorship of the WSF into its 50th year. As part of the agreement, Dunlop will also support squash’s bid to join the 2020 Olympics.
Coca-Cola Sustainability Award
Coca-Cola’s "Clean Sea for Clean City" program won the "Harmony for Nature" award in Sochi.
The program encourages schoolchildren, students and Sochi 2014 volunteers to participate in environmental projects around the River Sochi.
The project is part of international Black Sea celebrations, and featured educational villages, a film festival as well as volunteer events.
The award was part of the inaugural Sochi 2014 sustainability awards, which recognize commitments to sustainable developments ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
Hungarian Olympic Committee Sponsor
Magyar Telekom renewed its sponsorship of the Hungarian Olympic Committee through 2016.
The platinum sponsorship assists the HOC in preparing Hungarian athletes for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Magyar Telekom has been a sponsor of the HOC since 1996.
