The Riyadh 2030 Bid Committee today revealed details of its transformative Asian Olympic Family Program to support visiting National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and ensure athletes from across Asia perform at their very best at the 2030 Asian Games.
Leaving an enduring legacy for the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) is a key commitment of Riyadh’s bid for the 2030 Asian Games. Central to this will be the Asian Olympic Family Program, which will share learnings and experiences, helping the OCA to foster increased connections and transfer knowledge between NOCs. This will be implemented in line with the Quality of Life Vision Realisation Program as part of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Saudi Vision 2030.
The Asian Olympic Family Program will complement Riyadh 2030’s world class venues and facilities, unparalleled high-performance training facilities and its compact and efficient hosting plan. The easily accessible Athletes’ Village, located at the heart of the Games, will instil a community atmosphere reinforcing the Bid’s commitment to placing Asia’s athletes at its heart and ensuring they have an incredible experience.
In the build up to and throughout the 2030 Asian Games, the OCA Family will have access to a range of services that will provide a comfortable, convenient and successful experience, with NOC benefits including:
· Complimentary accommodation for all NOC delegates in the state-of-the-art Athletes’ Village with office space, medical space and storage - a first for the Asian Games
· Enhanced travel funding to support NOC delegation attendance and participation
· Free media travel and accommodation for one media representative per NOC to cover the Games and guarantee universal coverage of Riyadh 2030
· Asian Games Camps from 2023 to identify young talent and provide a seven-year high-performance programme preparing them for the 2030 Asian Games
· Asian Games Academies creating a solidarity chain between NOCs and offering delegates an Events Management MBA at Riyadh’s King Saud University to encourage future hosting of multi-sport events
· Young Ambassadors across media, sports, culture and arts in each country to represent the spirit of the Games
· OCA Fun Run Relay developed into a new connected event in every NOC country with male and female winners invited to the Asian Games Opening Ceremony and to take part in an education, sporting and cultural exchange program
