Piden Unidad para Salvar Legado Lima 2019

(ATR) En próximos días el Gobierno peruano oficializará el organismo al que estará adscrito el "Proyecto Legado" de los Juegos Panamericanos de Lima 2019 lo que enviaría un mensaje de tranquilidad en la preservación de los escenarios deportivos.

Carlos Neuhaus, quien dirigiera el Comité Organizador en los casi tres últimos años, dijo a Around the Rings en Fort Lauderdale, que "como equipo Lima 2019, la propuesta es mantener la unidad no importa donde estemos adscritos".

Neuhaus rindió el informe final del megaevento ante el comité ejecutivo de Panam Sports, en el que en terminos numéricos se reflejaron los beneficios que recibió Lima en promoción, infraestructura deportiva y de la ciudad en general.

Los peruanos esperan el despegue definitivo de su deporte en base a la inversion realizada y confían preservar el legado, algo que se convierte en un gran desafío para las naciones latinoamericanas marcadas por inestabilidades politicas y económicas, panorama que podría ser tema único en alguno de los futuros seminarios del deporte panamericano.

Sólo en el tiempo de dos años y 10 meses al frente de COPAL, Neuhaus debió tratar con seis presidentes del Instituto Peruano del Deporte (IPD), por los recambios imprevistos, una indeseada situación que salpicó también a la Presidencia de la República y a Ministerios que supervisaban directamente los Juegos.

Y encima, la crisis interna en el Comité Olímpico Peruano.

Neuhaus dijo a ATR que ya se cuenta con el equivalente a 17 millones de dólares para el mantenimiento de las nuevas sedes durante 2020.

Y como complemento ya se tiene en el programa de la próxima temporada competiciones internacionales en Lima en natación, tiro, atletismo, softbol y voleibol.

Todo hace indicar que el "Proyecto Legado" pasará a ser administrado por el Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo (Mincetur), una decisión que ha causado malestar en el Instituto Peruano del Deporte (IPD) y varias federaciones deportivas.

Sin referirse directamente al asunto Neuhaus reiteró la necesidad de la "unidad" para llevar a cabo "el despegue definitivo" del deporte peruano.

"A veces cuandio la politica se quiere meter un poquito en opinar sobre las mejores formas ahi es donde se atascan las cosas" dijo.

Neuhaus remarcó a ATR que este 31 de diciembre será su último día en la dirigencia deportiva

"Como los deportistas hay que saber cuando retirarse" reveló.

"Un miembro del equipo Lima 2019 se encargará de continuar con el legado" aclaró.

"Siempre estaremos dispuestos a ayudar" dijo.

Este diciembre Neuhaus asumió el cargo de presidente ejecutivo de la Asociación de Centros Comerciales del Perú.
