(ATR) Korean Air flew supplies to Fiji to help with relief efforts in the aftermath of Cyclone Winston.

The supplies left Incheon, South Korea on March 10 and included over 9,000 liters of mineral water and food supplies. Donations given to the Fijian embassy in South Korea were also transported. A total of 12.5 tons were delivered to Fiji according to media reports.

"We want to play an important role in the rebuilding phase of the country that will assist the Fijian economy," John Yang, Korean Air marketing manager, said to Fijian media.

"We are also operating our business in Fiji and it would be mandatory to assist those who have lost a lot of things during the storm."

This is not the first time Korean Air has assisted in the region with disaster relief. The PyeongChang 2018 sponsors delivered supplies in the aftermath of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, and the 2015 Katmandu earthquake.

No McDonald's at Main Press Center

A familiar sponsor will not be serving the media in the Main Press Center.

McDonald’s confirmed to Around the Rings that they will only be installing a restaurant in the Olympic Village, foregoing the standard restaurant in the MPC.

"McDonald’s will be at the Olympics as we have been for the past 35 years," a spokesperson for the company said to ATR.

"We elected to build a restaurant in the International Zone of the Olympic Village, which is a central location open to athletes, their friends and family, and members of the media. We consider many factors when deciding where we will build restaurants, such as size and layout of the venues."

Rome Chamber of Commerce Backs 2024 Bid

The Rome bid for the 2024 Olympics now has the support of the city’s Chamber of Commerce.

Rome 2024 bid leader Luca di Montezemolo met with Rome Chamber of Commerce president Lorenzo Tagliavanti on Tuesday to drum up support from the city’s business sector.

"We need everyone’s support, starting from the companies of the capital, to share initiatives that can improve the city starting from now," says Montezemolo.

The Rome Chamber of Commerce represents 474,000 companies. Although all of these companies are not likely to lend a hand to the Olympic effort, garnering the support of a few powerhouses could bolster the bid’s efforts.
