JTA Design, the specialist design arm of sports international relations and communications consultancy JTA, has successfully launched a new look for the European Olympic Committees (EOC) at the recent 45th EOC General Assembly in Minsk, Belarus.

JTA Design, which is based in Alicante, Spain, was commissioned by the EOC in April to establish a new look and feel that more closely represents Europe and the unifying role that sport plays across the continent. The centrepiece of the look and feel is a 50-piece mosaic of blue and azure colours, which represents the EOC’s 50 members.

JTA Design’s work for the EOC included the development of umbrella branding for the EOC’s flagship events - the European Games and the European Youth Olympic Festival - as well as re-designing the EOC’s website (currently under development).

Managing Director of JTA Design, Salva Ramirez, said:

"The EOC’s new look and feel is a perfect example of how JTA Design’s experience in the sports industry enables us to offer a tailored service to every client.

"The EOC wanted a new identity that symbolises Europe, and the centrepiece mosaic delivers exactly that. It represents how Europe is a mosaic of cultures on one continent and stresses the unity that the EOC provides to its member nations. Creating this look and feel was a collaborative process with the EOC and their input was sought and given at every stage.

"I was delighted at the overwhelmingly positive reception that the look and feel received in Minsk, and the feedback from the wider sports industry has also been hugely positive."

To launch the new look and feel, JTA Design produced an innovative unveiling ceremony of the centrepiece logo in which a senior member from every one of the 50 National Olympic Committees (NOC) in Europe placed one of the 50 pieces of the mosaic onto a plinth. With the mosaic complete, the wordmark underneath the mosaic logo was revealed in dramatic fashion to show the logo in full.

JTA Design has established itself as a world leader in branding and digital design solutions for international sports federations and organisations. And its innovative and trusted services have attracted a number of high-profile clients.

Before working for the EOC, JTA Design created the look and feel for the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and the company is currently involved in digital design projects for the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC), Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) and Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB).

Jon Tibbs, Chairman of JTA Design, said:

"JTA Design is one of the most creative and professional design agencies operating in the Olympic world. Crucial to its success is the collaborative approach of Salva and his team, which is a hallmark of all JTA’s client services. It means clients are kept fully up to date on the creative process and can give their input at any stage. The EOC’s new look and feel is truly stunning and it reflects the vision and the potential of the EOC."
