(ATR) Global bank Citi signs on as an international partner with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) through 2020.
Under the partnership agreement announced Thursday, Citi will support National Paralympic Committees in 18 countries as they prepare for upcoming world and regional championships as well as the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The 18 National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) Citi will sponsor include: Australia, Chinese Taipei, Colombia, Costa Rica, Great Britain, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, and the UAE.
"We are delighted that Citi joins the IPC as our third International Partner and that the company’s support extends to NPCs spanning four continents, as well as a number of Para athletes," said IPC President Andrew Parsons in a statement.
"Citi has been involved in the Paralympic Movement for more than six years and we look forward to working closely with them to explore opportunities to further awareness of how our work transforms society and drives social inclusion."
Citi joins Allianz and BP as current international partners, the second tier of IPC sponsorship.
Tokyo 2020 Welcomes Aggreko as an Official Supporter
The Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games adds a 58th domestic partner on Friday.
Aggreko Events Services Japan Ltd. (Aggreko) was announced as a Tokyo 2020 Official Supporter, the third domestic tier of the Tokyo 2020 Sponsorship Program.
The company has been attributed the category "Temporary Electricity Generation."
Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori welcomed the announcement in a statement.
"A reliable, secure and resilient power supply is essential to the success of the Tokyo 2020 Games, supporting all Games Operations, and we are delighted that we will be able to count on the support of Aggreko, as a company with extensive experience in successfully delivering temporary power services."
Aggreko is the 13th Official Supporter to come on board. There are 15 Gold Partners and 30 Official Partners that make up the rest of the domestic sponsorships.
SAVI to Supply Concacaf Referee Uniforms
The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) announced Friday an agreement naming SAVI the official referee uniform provider for all Concacaf tournaments and properties.
The deal is for four years, and includes the Concacaf Gold Cup, the Concacaf Nations League, the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, and the Scotiabank Concacaf League. Referees will also be outfitted for a full range of men’s and women’s Concacaf tournaments and World Cup qualifying events at age levels from under-13 through full club and national teams.
"We are very pleased to partner with SAVI," said Concacaf Director of Refereeing Brian Hall in a statement. "Through our partnership with SAVI, we are able to provide excellent referee gear and products to our officials to assist them in the best way possible in performing at the highest level on each match."
Based in Montreal, SAVI is a designer, manufacturer and distributor of customizable sports clothes, materials and accessories.
"We want the referees to bloom on the field when wearing our brand," said SAVI CEO, Ricardo Dos Santos in a statement. "It is important for them to be proud of the image they portray and to be comfortable when judging all situations of the beautiful game."
