GoDaddy and Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) team up as the supporters of big dreams to inspire entrepreneurs and athletes across Australia

Wednesday, 16 June, Sydney – GoDaddy, the company that empowers everyday entrepreneurs, announces today it has been named as the Official Website Builder Partner of the Australian Olympic Team for the Tokyo 2020 Games.

GoDaddy has a long and proud history of supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners in Australia. Many Australian Olympic athletes are small business owners themselves, running businesses and side hustles to help support the pursuit of their sporting dreams. The Australian Olympic Team for Tokyo includes small business owners across diverse fields, from property and physiotherapy to retail and even bakers.

In collaboration with the AOC, GoDaddy will help support Australia’s Olympic athletes as they bring their side hustle or business ideas to life. GoDaddy will provide them with products such as Websites + Marketing, with its integrated suite of tools and services, to help them get their business online.

As part of the partnership’s aim to inspire Australia’s entrepreneurs, GoDaddy will soon announce its Tokyo 2020 athlete ambassador, an inspiring representation of what can be achieved - in both sport and business - by chasing a dream.

"We’re very proud to support the Australian Olympic Team," said Tamara Oppen, Managing Director of GoDaddy Australia. "Many of Team Australia’s athletes in Tokyo are small business owners, and we’re delighted to support them in both their entrepreneurial and sporting dreams. Small businesses owners and athletes are united by their resilience, hard work and willingness to take a leap in the pursuit of something extraordinary. They’re phenomenal role models for aspiring Australian sports stars and entrepreneurs alike."

Matt Carroll AM, CEO of the Australian Olympic Committee, added: "We’re delighted to welcome GoDaddy to the Australian Olympic family for the Tokyo 2020 Games. Sport and entrepreneurialism are synonymous with the Australian spirit; crafts that require passion, perseverance and dedication.

"Many Australian Olympic athletes are already starting and running businesses to help support themselves, both now and for their post-athletics futures. Our partnership with GoDaddy is a crucial part of our mission to empower our athletes for both their Tokyo 2020 dreams, and for their longer-term entrepreneurial goals, too."
