(ATR) United States Olympic Committee leadership met with Boston 2024 on July 16.

A spokesperson for the USOC said to Around the Ringsthe visit was "just a regular check-in, not unlike many in the past."

This is the first meeting between the USOC and Boston 2024 after the bid released its updated plan to the public.

According to a report from the Boston Globe, USOC chief executive Scott Blackmun and chairman Larry Probst traveled to meet with Boston 2024 executives and get an update on how the bid plans to raise public support.

Support for the bid continues to languish with polls showing support is hovering around 40 percent inside the city and across the state. The bid has not registered a majority of public support since polls were first conducted in January.

The USOC must submit a letter of intent to bid for the 2024 Olympics to the IOC by Sept. 15. Budapest, Hamburg, Paris, and Rome are all expected to bid for the 2024 Games along with Boston.
